This graphic illustrates the condition of public mobility in three of those. Percent (%) according to categorization (see elements) compared to baseline data. The mobility baseline data is the median value, for the same day of the week in a 5 week period (3 January – 6 February 2020) from Google Mobility Data.
Finding
From the existing pattern from the previous graphic describing the condition of people’s mobility in Indonesia (%) by categorization per activity (see chart) compared to baseline data. Baseline mobility data is the median value, for the same day within a week that is within a period of 5 weeks (January 3 – February 6, 2020) of Google Mobility Data and January 13 per day from Apple Maps.
Since the first few cases appeared in some areas of Java (as the epicentre of the pandemic) it took at least 1 month for the government to respond to this to issue policies and regulations related to restrictions on people’s mobility.
However, what can be read, after the narrative adaptation of new habits (AKB) and transition mechanisms on people’s mobility?
There is a trend of increased public mobility activity in the retail and leisure sectors, although it is still lower than the baseline figure (normal conditions) There is a trend of increasing public mobility activity in parks (fasums), terminals, stations, fulfillment of essential needs, and pharmaceuticals although still lower below the baseline figure (normal conditions) The trend of activity conditions in residential neighborhoods began to decline, and was influenced by mobility in other sectors that reopened (transportation, offices, shopping malls etc.)
Recommendation
Until pandemics can be fully controlled, measurable policies are needed to control people’s mobility and maintain the discipline of health protocols. Pandemic immersion in Bali can be a reference to the concept of applying health protocols in tourist areas, especially for domestic tourists. Was the translation helpful?
